Dorothy Sawler

In 1990, Dorothy joined her husband, Don, as a Realtor and The Sawler Real Estate Team was born!

Prior to her career in real estate, Dorothy graduated from The Victoria General Hospital School of Nursing. She very much enjoyed working as a Registered Nurse and those empathetic qualities serve her well today.

RE/MAX has recognized Dorothy in the prestigious RE/MAX Hall of Fame. She is also a Registered Relocation Specialist. An active member of her professional community, she has served as a member of The Halifax-Dartmouth Real Estate Board of Directors, has chaired the Professional Standards Committee, is a past member of the NSAR Scholarship Committee and presently sits on the NSAR Discipline Committee.

Quietly active in supporting the community, Dorothy can also be found on her regular walks, playing Bridge and loves to bake.

Don Sawler

Don Sawler's career in the Nova Scotia real estate industry has spanned over forty years.

The founding partner of the Sawler Real Estate Group retired as a licensed Realtor in July of 2018 but remains a valuable asset to our group in an administrative capacity.  Throughout his career he has received local, national and international recognition for his exemplary service and professionalism. RE/MAX has presented Don with The Lifetime Achievement Award, and he was a member of the RE/MAX Hall of Fame. His sales experience, over the years, has led to MLS Gold and Platinum Awards. In 2011, Don received honorary membership in the Nova Scotia Association of Realtors.

In his spare time, Don can be found at the family cottage in Lake Charlotte or enjoying a round of golf. During the winter months, Don is an active member of The Dartmouth Curling Club, is an avid reader and bridge player.

Andy Sawler, FRI

Andy is an Alumni of Saint Mary’s University where he received both a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Commerce Degree. Upon graduation Andy relocated to Vancouver where he enjoyed a successful sales career in the technology sector.

After seven years, Andy returned home to Nova Scotia in 2005 to join the family business and round out The Sawler Real Estate Group.

As a professional REALTOR, Andy is dedicated to continuing his education in the field and is presently an active member of the local chapter of the Real Estate Institute of Canada (REIC). In 2011, Andy received the RE/MAX Lifetime Achievement Award for sales performance and also earned the professional designation of FRI (Fellow of the Real Estate Institute of Canada). The FRI designation is recognized as Canada’s pre-eminent real estate designation for top professionals who demonstrate an ongoing commitment to the highest standards of education, experience and ethical conduct in the industry.

In the community Andy is a member of the IWK Health Centre Founder’s Club, proud supporter of Regional Independent Students Association (RISA), and the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.

Away from the office, Andy is a member of the Hartlen Point Forces Golf Club, acts as chair of the Dartmouth Skateboard Coalition, and enjoys gentleman’s league hockey.
